Notes:

  - From source proclaiming: "Fakes?....Of course there are fakes! But no one can tell the difference, so it doesn't matter!" (the source was wrong).

 

Detection Points:

  - Very Pronounced Haslemere steps, visible without magnification

  - Bizarre, incorrect style

  - Incorrect die-cutting

 

Disposition:

  - Plate coin retained by the author

  - Clumsy attempt to file off casting sprue

  - Phony striking crack created by hammering coin after it was cast or pressing it in a vise
